Welcome to Neem Tree Therapy
My name is Bushra Ahmed, I have an accredited background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and a degree in Counselling. But more importantly, I bring a calm, non-judgmental approach to a problem that rarely feels calm or simple.
I specialise in OCD, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, mental checking, relationship OCD, religious scrupulosity, and the exhausting fear of “what if.”
If you’ve ever been told to “just stop overthinking,” or felt like no one really gets what’s happening inside your mind you’re not alone, and you're not too complex to help.
I work flexibly, with compassion and curiosity, so we can gently untangle the patterns that are running your life without making you feel like a diagnosis.
I also understand how OCD intersects with anxiety, shame, low self-esteem, and cultural identity. You won’t have to explain your background, your beliefs, or your silence this space is built to meet you with understanding, not assumptions.
Therapy isn’t just about coping with OCD. It’s about reclaiming your mind, challenging what feels “urgent but untrue,” and building trust in yourself one session, one breath, one choice at a time.
My practice is rooted in:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention)
And a whole lot of emotional context — because treating OCD without honouring guilt, shame, and identity is like painting over mould.
This isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about helping you build a life that isn’t ruled by fear, urgency, or rituals.
And we’ll go at a pace that works for you.
Specialist Focus in OCD
This isn’t generalised therapy. I work specifically with OCD and related anxiety presentations. That means no explaining what ERP is, no defending your thoughts, and no feeling dismissed.
More Than Textbook CBT
While I use evidence-based CBT and ERP methods, I tailor therapy to you. We move at your pace balancing structure with space to make real, sustainable change.
Trauma-Aware & Compassion-Driven
Many people with OCD carry hidden shame, fear, and a deep sense of “what if I’m just broken.” I hold space for that without rushing you toward quick fixes.
Culturally Sensitive Practice
You don’t have to translate your background, beliefs, or silence. I work with people from diverse cultural, spiritual, and family systems and I know how OCD shows up differently in each.
You’ll Be Heard, Not Managed
This isn’t about controlling symptoms — it’s about helping you understand your mind, reclaim your agency, and build a life not ruled by fear or rituals.
